Our baths run from the 145cm Orwell to the 180cm Kersey rectangular, with round and square Kersey baths for rooms where a long bath will not sit. There are eleven in all, across the period and contemporary collections.

Choosing a bath by size and shape

Length comes first. A 170cm bath such as Stour or Blyth lets most adults lie back. The 160cm Lark and Kersey oval suit a smaller room, and the 145cm Orwell is for a tight space. The Kersey round, at 120cm or 140cm across, and the 120cm Kersey square sit well in the middle of a large room and give a deep soak rather than a long one.

For a period bathroom, the Framsden roll-top stands on feet in white, chrome, gold or bronze, with the bath in white or black. The Thornham bath is 167 by 82cm and 65cm high. Deben comes in white or matt white.

What to check before ordering

Access: measure every door, stair and landing turn between the van and the room.

Floor: a filled bath with someone in it is a heavy load on a small area. On a timber floor, have the joists checked.

Waste: confirm where the waste sits and whether it runs through the floor or to a wall.

Hot water: in new dwellings, Part G of the Building Regulations requires the hot water to a bath to be limited by a blending valve.

Bath taps are sold separately; see taps and mixers for bath shower mixers and stand pipes. The Kersey collection shows all four plan shapes.
