This category covers shower trays and exposed shower sets. The trays come in two kinds: ceramic Framsden trays in square, rectangular, corner and offset quadrant shapes, and low trays at 30mm and 60mm deep in sizes from 70 by 90cm to 80 by 140cm. The showers are the Framsden exposed shower and the Orwell shower, each with a fixed head and a hand shower.

Planning a shower

Start with the water supply, because it decides what will work. A gravity-fed system with a tank in the loft gives low pressure at the head. A combination boiler or an unvented cylinder gives mains pressure. Check the shower’s minimum operating pressure on the specification sheet against what the house delivers, and ask us if you are not sure.

Then size the tray to the space, the door swing and the screen. Corner and quadrant trays save floor in an en suite. A rectangular tray gives more room to move and suits a walk-in layout.

Before you order

Check the waste position against the joists or slab, and allow for the fall to the waste. A low tray set into the floor needs the floor built up or recessed to suit. Framsden trays take the Framsden 90 shower tray waste, listed separately.
