We list ten towel rails and warmers. Thornham has a towel warmer, electric or for central heating, a towel rail at 40cm or 60cm and a side towel rail that fixes to the basin, all in chrome, gold or bronze. Alde has six brass-chrome rails at 375mm, 410mm, 500mm, 560mm, 640mm and 682mm, sized to sit with its basins. Orwell has a towel rail in matt white, matt black, chrome or nickel.

Rail or warmer

A plain rail holds towels by the basin or bath. A heated towel warmer dries them and takes the chill off the room. The central heating version runs on the heating circuit, so it is warm only when the heating is on. The electric version works all year but needs its own supply.

For a basin, a rail fixed to the basin itself keeps the towel within reach without another set of wall fixings. The Alde rails are sized to the Alde basin widths, so the rail and basin line up.

Before you order

Fix rails into solid timber, masonry or proper hollow-wall fixings; a wet towel is heavier than it looks. Electric warmers must be installed by a qualified electrician to suit the bathroom zone under BS 7671, and the work falls under Part P of the Building Regulations. For a central heating warmer, check the pipe centres and that the system can take another emitter.
