The Framsden 50cm Inset Basin is part of our Framsden collection and sits in our semi-recessed & inset basins range.
Framsden is our early twentieth-century collection: softly rounded basins, ceramic pedestals and legs, high- and low-level cisterns and a roll-top bath, with brassware to match.
The nominal size is 50cm. An inset or semi-recessed basin drops into a cut-out in a worktop or unit, which allows a shallower piece of furniture beneath.

Fitting the 50cm Inset Basin
A counter-mounted basin needs a worktop or cabinet top cut to suit it, and the tap height set so the spout clears the rim. Vessel basins usually need a tall mixer or a wall-mounted tap, and an unslotted waste if there is no overflow. Ask us for the template or dimensions before your worktop is made. Building work in a bathroom falls under the Building Regulations, and Approved Document G covers sanitary fittings and hot water safety.
Looking after it
Glazed ceramic needs only warm water, mild detergent and a soft cloth. Matt glazes show marks more than gloss, so wipe them regularly; avoid abrasive pads, scouring powders and strong acid descalers. Our care guide covers each finish in more detail.
Lead time and delivery
Lead time is 1 week from order; it carries a 10 year warranty. It travels on a pallet; delivery to mainland England and Wales is £65, and free when your order comes to £1,000 or more. See delivery for Scotland and the islands.
